Housekeeping Position at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Columbia NEPlease join us at our team at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Columbia NE in Columbia, South Carolina. The basic purpose of this role is to clean and supply all daily assigned rooms and report all damage, mechanical deficiencies, suspicious activities or theft in accordance with all housekeeping procedures and standards and safety and security rules and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction.Essential functions include:Clean guest rooms and stock with appropriate supplies in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations. To include but no limited to:Picking up trashChanging linen and making the bedCleaning entire bathroomSweeping and dusting guest roomCleaning the windows and balcony (80%)Retrieve, stock, restock and store the housekeeping cart according to prescribed housekeeping, safety and security procedures and regulations.Receive assigned section, keys, supplies and any priority room requests from the Senior Housekeeper. Turn in keys and unused supplies at end of shift.Respond to guest requests and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.Report any missing articles, damage or mechanical problems to the Senior Housekeeper and turn in articles left in room.Non-essential functions include:Coordinate with Housekeeping Supervisor on work priorities and provide assistance when needed.Knowledge and skills:Education: No formal education requiredExperience: Prior housekeeping experience desirableSkills and Abilities: Must be able to communicate in EnglishMust have the ability to clean rooms during an eight hour working daySelf-starting personality with an even dispositionAbility to meet standards of appearanceCan communicate well with guestsNo. of employees supervised: NoneTravel required: NoneHours Required: Scheduled days and times may vary based on needEnvironment: Physical job requirements (for essential functions only):Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying: Constantly pushing loaded supply cart from room to room, carrying tote tray with replacement amenities to assigned floor, arranging drapery and replacement linen, carrying dirty linen to laundry shoot, operating vacuum.Bending/Kneeling: Constant bending and kneeling to clean bathroom, vanity and making beds.
